Celebration Event - 2hr Mosaic Workshop culminating in a Celebration Meal

A wonderful sunny day in March marked our final workshop - to celebrate the coming together of our volunteers training friends and colleagues on the TEFL course running at Westborough School. This event was a time for the newly experienced people to practise their skills and also be the trainers - instead of the tutors delivering the training, key members of the first phase from the TF Project.
Over a two hour workshop all participants created their own trivet working from handouts and instructions from their recently trained friends.
As the session continued we had various members of the Transformation Fund and press attend to photograph and report on the project's success. The project featured in the Yellow Advertiser and the Leigh Times.
As our wonderful luncheon's aroma filled the air we were joined by some of the participants from Summercourt Centre. After a grouting demonstration of how to complete the trivet's/pot stand from Marie Wray luncheon was served and an opportunity for everyone to feast, mingle and reflect on their own future development opportunities.

Phase 2 - Summercourt Children's Centre

In February half term we took our trained volunteers from Westborough to the Summercourt Children's Centre and whilst the children were kept occupied with the important job of decorating wonderful wooden letters spelling out the centre's name with colourful beads, buttons and jewels, the adults got stuck into their own creations. Here's some of the

Volunteer training Day - a very snowy January Day

The participants worked on these wonderful paving slabs which have been donated to the school to display - super for outdoor spaces.
It snowed so hard that day - lucky we did it then as it just didn't stop and most places were snowed in by the following weekend.
